A setup to time the nail hit instantly when Trobbio pops up at the start.
Pay attention to the pair of spotlights swinging back and forth in the background starting after the dialogue. Just after they settle on the middle and have stopped moving you start to attack and the 3rd nail will hit.
Regarding the position you stand in, the spot used in the video is far enough left to not automatically get you hit if you mistime the nail. This is close to the furthest left you could be while still being close enough to land the nail but there's a little leeway. Much further right and you will get hit if the nail doesn't push him away pretty much instantly.
