Lace 2's attacks can be extremely manipulated, and if done properly, can lead to a *mostly scripted fight. There's a ton of intricacies, but for the most part, if executed well, the fight in the first clip should be entirely consistent up until past the damage tank (although with her in a corner after 2nd scream, I'm pretty sure if you hit her quick enough she will jump most of the time as well, but the next attack is a little finnicky).

How it works: Basically, just watch the 2nd clip. You have to be in the air and hit her a little after her attacks end. The one exception is after her 2nd phase change. I'm not entirely sure why but the window seems to change or just not exist after the first attack (although she goes back to normal afterwards).

Parry'nt: In the particular sequence I posted, spearing fast enough and far enough away will prevent her from parrying as well, and she'll go right to first and second scream. Rarely, she delays the first scream, and I really cannot tell why. If she parries your spear, you were too slow, and if she parries after, you were too close I think.

You can also manip her without jumping, but she seems to be able to triple slash or jump, and I do not understand how this works right now. I am not going to try and figure out the rest of it but figured this should be posted regardless.

The 3rd and 4th clips are sequences that use this manip even if the opener doesn't going according to plan. It is an extremely useful tool, as you can do safe spears right in her face and still get good attacks right afterwards.

I do NOT claim my sequence is the fastest possible strat, nor is any manip at all required to achieve these fight times, but it makes getting consistently fast times extremely achievable. For reference, the 1st clip is only about 0.4 slower than the fastest fight ever, with 0 wallbounce spears. That's pretty insane. So not only should it be more consistent, but if there's adjustments or different lines to take with this, it can be even better. There's a ton of potential here

Every phase 2 pattern killed in 4 attacks. For some of these, I'm not 100% sure if you can fully get it off before the offscreen, but I figured I'd post and let people improve upon them if they'd like to. There absolutely are optimizations to be had, or something to make them easier, because a few of these are quite difficult.

After death, bosses and arenas do a "slowmo" this is a post about how we are gonna use it on any% to save time, this can be even more timesave for longer categories since they do a LOT more inventory shenanigans.
On the time that the slowmos last you can open the inventory and do whatever you want, if the slowmo lasts for lets say 2s, you can open the inventory and break strings/move around/whatever for 2s without opening it, if you open it for 1.5s the slowmo will last for .5, so it doesnt lose time, if you open it for 2.5s you lose .5s, since the slowmo was gone for .5s.
Knowing this we can use it on any% to do this:

the slowmos for moss mother and bell beast are each 1.2s
total time to open inv + break 2 strings + close inv normally is ~2.5s
time to open inv + break 1 string + close inv normally is ~1.5s
so theoretically each string break should only cost 0.3s when done perfectly 1 on each slowmo, so 0.6s total as opposed to 2.5s total when not using this tech at all, meaning with tas execution this could save ~1.9s

So now the idea is to open a string RIGHT AFTER moss mother dies and the other one RIGHT AFTER bell beast dies. You will see a lot of runners doing this so you will know how its done (just open it asap after last hit lol) here is a video on how i timed it for bell beast in case someone is skeptical ig

This dash repress is super good for getting past the 3 worms at the end, has been known for a bit, first saw Trunk do it I think

This strat has existed but just wanted to post some examples. When a bellthrower throws, it can't move for a bit, so you wanna get past it. React to whichever has thrown and is close enough to get to the other side of. If neither throws, or if the one that threw is too far away, I find it's better to just wait for a throw. Rarely you can get screwed over but it almost always works if you space properly.

consistent method to skip having to wait. requires 4 silk and 3 health. for some odd reason it only works if you buffer a pogo after the spear. first half of the clip is me doing it incorrectly on purpose. second half is done correctly (refer to input overlay)

momentum cancel makes this cycle much easier and more bearable than dashing onto the platform

single tap from the wall to turn with minimal movement and then single tap dash (i dont know if, with this setup, its faster than regular room movement)

I started looking into some "early kills" that some people have been getting on phantom. If phantom is low enough finishing the "phase change", you can do a LATE silk spear kill them before they do any other attack (2nd clip).
This was a bit annoying cs its a gamble, but then @Nebula found out (1st clip) that you can just double slash them and it makes it same speed, doesnt require silk, and its not a gamble since you can hit them inmediately after if they dont die there.
There is no reason to do this, if I see someone NOT doing this I WILL FIND YOU, this is faster EVEN if you dont instantly kill them

Xena ^›⩊‹^ ੭

this is obviously an exaggerated clip with infinite silk, and this is already a known strat but not publicly made aware as far as i know. u can consistently spear Phantoms pillar/steam attack to deal an extra 27 damage on phase change by sprinting away from the steam -> jump -> turn around -> spear

additionally (found by and made popular by Nebula), you can have 8 silk on phase change, get 2 spears off on 2 steam attacks, then 3 more hits + your silk heart and still get enough silk to spear after phase change is over.

i personally only use a spear on steam attack if i know i can spear after phase change again.

(forgot to mention that u can know the spear hits by seeing silk fly off the steam)

wave 3 strat that seems a lot more consistent than upslashing either the bell bearer or the reed. not sure if anyone was doing this before me but i figured out this is very very consistent

A collection of extremely fast or free silk hits (if you're going to do these at least do the ones from the 2nd clip)

Mist pregambles (maybe semi-gambles, not exactly sure what to call them)

In the first room of the mist, getting a gamble wrong does not lose anything. Additionally, you can use the music to hear if you got the gamble correct or not. Therefore, there are some situations in which it is optimal on average to do a gamble, and then re-enter the room again and continue as normal.

Here are some of these situations:

  • m1 if there are no right moths - use top exit
  • m3 always - use left exit
  • m6 if there are no right moths - use top exit

Here are my timing for reference if someone would want to time these themselves or for other potential situations.

Hitting this lever 3 times instead of 4 seems to save 13ms here (unless the 4 hit clip trolled in some way that i dont see). Also u can still skip the mantle with 3 hits but u need to pogo later which ended up being a wee bit slower so just taking the mantle seems better

dust_02_standing.png
  1. You can nail slash lace 1 during the orb attack. The first clip is good in situations where you don't have silk or need some hits to get a landing silkspear. Its 2 free hits if you get them and you don't get punished if you miss it.
  2. Pogo silkspear is harder to get but I just included it for anyone that wants to try and learn the timing for it, you can also get a landing spear or a turnaround when falling. You need to pogo at the top parts of the orb otherwise you fall in to the attack and just get hit, like pogoing a cog.

this drop is doable with a spear on the rosaries, you can barely make it before the aknid (slower loads win here)

faster opener on double maestro wave

pretty sure you need to do this on the right maestro otherwise you will get hit (you can use the foreground candle to lineup like shown in the videos)
you just have to do nail > clawline > nail > pogo > spear > dash > upslash
between the nail and pogo after clawline you have to move back a tiny bit or it wont work

(getting hit or not is kinda rng so idk if you would go for this is runs but ill still put it here :3)

really tight wavedash immediately after picking up clawline allows skipping all 3 hooks at the start followed by some (maybe) optimal movement for the top of the room using an extra wavedash on the top right platform

Xena ^›⩊‹^ ੭
  1. it is possible but really difficult to fit in a pogo instant silkspear on phase change scream, to my understanding you need a frame perfect neutral pogo where u lose height and then silkspear inside gms so the hitbox barely hits her

  2. this is a fast combo ive been using on gms when she staggers where u can do a pogo dash turn around slash pogo instant spear. another thing is that you can land a silkspear on her before she lands from the stagger which doesnt add to the unstagger counter although its not very viable unless you KNOW she will stagger

  3. i recommend always standing on the left side of gms when u start the fight, its faster obviously but mainly it will force her to go right at LEAST once and if ur lucky she'll go right again so u can get a silkspear wallbonk in. start the fight anywhere to the left of the silk on the ground for this. u can also spam upslash when the fight starts to fit 1 nail hit in easy

  4. when gms slashes, u can also use the pogo instant silkspear into a clawline to catch up to her. make sure u do this technique in the middle of the arena so the silkspear hits her before she goes too far away

A more consistent flea brew chalamet skip than just pogoing twice.
dash pogo chalamet, go to far right and flea brew relatively late. pogo and go immediately right. dash pogo again.

fireb0rn

Fairly easy opener for double Maestro wave.

If you knock the Maestro away from its minions fast enough, it wastes its attack (trying to recall its minions). If you're low on silk, you can use this to farm enough silk to double spear the other maestro, or you can just silkspear the maestro against the wall for a fairly quick kill.

I'm not sure if this is consistent. If you do the first two hits really fast, I think the maestro can spawn its minions closer to the wall which allows the maestro to attack, so you should be ready to react to an attack regardless.

probably fastest movement for this room cloakless. for the enemy pogo you first need to dmg tank one hit by falling on it from above, then you pogo its attack so you dont kill it and then you pogo the enemy again to have enough height to clawline the upper one.

Easy movement setup to prevent going too early and jumping into the flying guy. Hold sprint during the second ledge getup then don't let go until re-pressing it to land on the first cage.

fireb0rn

Simple and fairly easy Chalamet skip that requires minimal reaction to the enemy's movement.

  • Sprint jump left, dash at the peak of your jump to avoid falling before the pogo, then pogo the bug
  • Silkspear at the highest possible point, left of the bug
  • Dash left, then immediately pogo right
  • The enemy should always attack at this point, freezing it in place for a moment and allowing for an easy third pogo

[EJEM] Intramint

Strats for waves 1-4 of the arena. This is 6,5-8 sec faster than WR and 3,5-5 sec faster than comsob. Times below are compared to WR or comsob - whichever was faster.

Wave 1: faster than wr by 2 sec.

  • sometimes the middle guy doesn't get to attack (like in the 2nd video) which means you don't have to wait for them to line up, which saves time

Wave 2: Pretty much the same time, so choose whichever one you like. I like this because the movement and the last spear are satisfying

  • sometimes you need to do a little hop on the last needle hit

Wave 3: faster than comsob by 1 sec

  • stay exactly in the middle and wait a little before you jump to make the reed follow you
  • can get a little inconsistent if spawns are desynced too much, which can make you miss one of them
  • you can trade a bit of time for safety if you don't want to do the last turnaround

Wave 4: faster than comsob by 2 sec

  • the upslash before the spear won't always hit the bell thrower (like in the 3rd video)
  • but it makes you turn around faster, so do it anyway
  • alternatively, if you know it won't hit, you can instead needle right to hit the guy you pogo through, to get 1 more silk
  • you can omit the last spear if you want to save silk for the spider
[EJEM] Intramint

Requires 2 silk which you get on the way anyway. Use silk spears to stall in the air without consuming any silk

spear thrower manip + consistent pond skippers
3-4 silk hits depending on need. (https://discord.com/channels/772964112908156938/1365521515356885032/1424178385495785482 for 4 silk hits if you enter on 1 silk or miss a hit. loses about .1 seconds)

5 silk arena entry is all that's needed.

For first pond skipper: Doing only 2 pogo dashes into a jump lets me easily adjust to the pond skipper rng and get a pogo whether he's close or far

For the pogo on the spear thrower: if he does not get to attack he will always be in a pogoable position (just listen for the attack audio and forego this pogo when you hear him attack). This movement makes that very consistent for me though. (the movement past the spear thrower itself is a little on the slow side in this video but he still didn't throw)

For 2nd/3rd pond skippers: this movement has not failed me on any rng but you can get some pogos as well if you'd rather.

fallen (skip queen)

I think this is the optimal cycle for the fluttermite pogos

[EJEM] Intramint

0.2 sec faster than wr and same speed as wr strat if done optimally but this also gives 1 extra silk which is nice for spears on the big guy. The last hit is necessary to consistently turn around out of the dash and the extra silk is a bonus. Even if you mess up and miss with the last hit and not get a spear landing animation cancel it's still the same speed as wr

[EJEM] Intramint

I've seen @Gay say that they use a conchfly lure and also seen some other top runners struggling with the skip or aligning themselves into a perfect spot and losing time so I wanted to make this tutorial, since if I can do it consistently then so can they.

There is some useful info in https://discord.com/channels/772964112908156938/1365521515356885032/1424920583249989742. It mentions a "3-4 frame window" for an instant walljump without a cling. That's what my strat focuses on.

As my "credentials" I'm posting a video of me hitting the skip 48 times in a row: https://youtu.be/jsarW-xmgAg

There's more info in the Blasted steps 2nd skip intricacies document:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mCuBTj3oxWjClPVUegFM7jw0OQMMVT5L/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=109704649016651479453&rtpof=true&sd=true

Even if you have no problem with the skip, there should still be some useful info there.

Not the perfect execution but here are some strats for the library arena starting with no silk :

The idea is to intentionally miss the last enemy with the spear on wave 1 or 2 to get enough silk to double spear on wave 3. The goal is to have at least every wave 3 enemy at 1 hp (2 spears for the needle one and 1 for the others). In the video, I somehow missed the first spear on the needle guy but the idea is here.

Moreover, on wave 1, I sometimes manage to hit both bugs with the 4th attack so I don't need the extra attack on the flying one.
I also found wave 4 and 5 kind of cool, hope it can help.

Craw Pogo 2 intricacies
So this is going to be a bit long, but bear with me. In the beggining you sprint on the ceiling up until the point of aggroing the second craw, but dont go too far to not make the first craw go to your right. After they are both on your left side, you should always be able to reach the higher platform with one pogo regardless of the craw that dives or at what time the dive happens. When im up there, i like to stand a little bit to the right of the ledge without jumping.

Now there are two scenarios that can happen, if the craw you hit is lower than the other one, its the good scenario (first clip), if not, its the bad scenario (second clip). For both skips i start with a jump and a pogo little after the higher craw passes the height of the ledge.

For the first clip, you should keep them both to your left for most of the climb, doing one pogo on the higher craw, then hit him again, followed by the other one, use a spear, then you should separate them to not get stuck under the platform.

For the second clip, you will do the pogo on the higher craw again, but this time youll pogo the lower one twice in a row, with a spear in the middle, this should separate them. Then youll just need to continue the climb using one more spear (always use them when youre closer to the craw on the left to make sure you dont go too far to the right). In the clip i did two more spears, but its bc i didnt notice i was already high enough.

Dadison

Yet another way to do this skip. You need to jump right at the end of the ceiling to avoid getting hit by the craw, then you use the natural ladder formed by the sign and the two enemies to get in between them. From there just pogo your way up using a heal after hitting each craw 3 times

Janky walljumps got you down? Ask yourself: what can Brew do for You? (ignore the little flub at the end, trick is still precise this just makes it easier)

[EJEM] Intramint

You can just keep holding dash through both of the jumps to consistently reach the left platform before the spider blocks the way. Climbing on the right wall makes this fully consistent because you can easily aim where you land and where you jump from. That way you can always reach the cage with no weird collisions. The usual left side walljumps also works most of the time but sometimes you grab the ledge on the cage instead. You can probably have a fully consistent left side setup too if you add in an extra jump or a wall dash. The right side is pretty much the same speed so it's just preference (there was a 0.05s difference from the moment of first touching the wall to the moment of landing on the first block you jump off of)

xX_Shawtoof(1upple)_Xx

you can do this left side with only one silk excuse the sloppy execution it's not too much harder than the regular strat tho so worth going for

fireb0rn

A couple visual cues to make the little skips in this room more consistent.

  1. In the bottom right, start using Cloak and float over to the third knob in the background (on the rail which the hook travels on). When Hornet's eyes line up with the top part of the third knob from the right (the red rectangle), use Clawline. Begin holding left before the Clawline finishes so that you immediately start moving left and can get to the ledge.
  2. For the second skip, Clawline into the large sawblade underneath the platform and immediately move to the right. Use Cloak shortly after you reach the peak of your height from the Clawline bounce. When Hornet's eyes line up with the red rectangle in the picture, use Clawline. There is a small knub in the background object within the rectangle that can serve as a visual cue. Begin holding right before the Clawline finishes so that you immediately start moving right and can get to the ledge.

shoutout Quissy for figuring out this setup, I added two mantles to help with consistency but this seems to work every time for me to set up the enemy pogo. flea brew isn't strictly necessary if you get the right height but it does help, and I think the movement I do at the end of the room is only possible with the brew active.
key point: when you attack the conchfly for the setup, you have to make sure you're a bit below it or else it moves downward to attack, ruining the setup

discord search has been wonky for me so someone may have already posted a setup for this enemy pogo to get thru coral_12 quickly, but this is what I've been doing. the enemy position can be a little inconsistent, but you can play this a lot like the beastfly pogo and use some jumps/patience to make sure it's in the right spot. in particular, the jump-dash back on the platform you're baiting the enemy towards is important, and it's more consistent if you do just a little more than a short hop

note that if bind dash refresh gets voted legal you can just do the coral_03 skip that ppl did in judgement runs instead of having to do this room at all

I re-worked Scotty's version of this skip to avoid having to do the precise jump off the platform. I haven't played around with it a ton yet, but I think it has potential. Here's the steps I follow to do this:

  • When jumping to the platform below the flying enemy, float underneath its aggro range to avoid waking it up.
  • Dash into the wall and walljump, holding right until you're just past the background flag.
  • Dash left and immediately hold right so that you begin a sprint turnaround the moment you land. You want to be fairly far right on the platform so you're close enough to cause the flying enemy to away, to the right.
  • Sprint jump a moment after landing, aiming to jump over the flying enemy.
  • If you clear the flying enemy, turn around and pogo it. You should pogo the top of its hitbox, not the side. If you jump into the enemy and get hit, you can still pogo it and make it to the right side. You can also make this step easier by hitting cloak just a moment before doing the pogo to help yourself line it up, but I'm not sure how consistent that is.
  • You can use the chain as a visual cue for timing your dash -> cloak repress in the air. I like to dash and repress cloak just before it.

yet "another" way of doing 2nd skip, so apparently you dont need to cloak twice, i'm having a lot of trouble with this skip and out of the methods this one is the most consistent for me, maybe it helps someone else too. But i just use the ledge grab setup and buffer jump, cloak past the chains, dash when you clear the cage and be ready to walljump as soon as you touch the wall, right is held all the time

I am very confident that this can be done consistently with this 2 setup which allows for handling each of 2 very different scenarios. The crow can either attack so far to the right that it will pass the second crow or it can attack from far left and wont reach there.

It goes as follows: you always stay just to the left side of the grass on(1st picture).

1st scenario: craw will slowly go towards you, and then it will dive, for this one you move very close to the triggering hitbox of the second craw(2nd picture) and as soon as the first craw dives you do two fast jump-dash inputs and pogo the craws from right to left, dash at the end for getting the mantle easily.

2and scenario: craw will dive instantly, here you will just full jump over the craw and tap right once or twice to get to the middle of the first grass(3rd picture) , then you will do 2 slashes to time your dash, you then proceed to pogo both craws again from right to left, pogoing the second craw looks weird but idk it just works.

This is the most consistent setup i've found for both cases giving me a 90+% success rate despite my fumbling, I'm missing timing info cause idk how to time stuffs, but surely a consistent not too slow setup is more than enough. Shootouts to @ScrewmyShoe and @vlackSR https://discord.com/channels/772964112908156938/1365521515356885032/1421252562014965870 for the video references and explanations of the skip.

fallen (skip queen)

Another Craw Skip. Yay!
This might be useful, its a way to skip the greymoor arena

fallen (skip queen)

(craw lake) (maybe) Thread Storm without Craw Arena
Some people seemed to think that this was impossible so I wanted to give it a try.
I doubt this is actually useful for a real run but maybe a TAS would make it faster than doing the arena.

to make it easier to avoid mantle around 0:08, approach wall with upwards speed and slide up for a bit before jumping
main thing to look out for after that is needing to release sprint before walking off so you can actually down dash

With heal, you can do this consistently
credit goes to nebula btw for finding it originally

viraldL

did by accident on my first run, not sure how hard it is to set up but if you die with the last hit it will black out the cutscene (kill animation and white screen with lore). Probably doable with other memories bosses. Saves like 14s

alternative probably faster caw pogo ignoring the right caw entirely

Breakdown of a consistent setup for the reaper crest pogo you can use on current patch with the heal stall (enabling key route cloakless)

updated strat for bone_14 by hitting a spider cycle properly, deleted older post

this room sucks. but it can be done.

there are two rng points of the room- the first hopper and the fourth hopper, but even the worst rng first hopper is faster than going on the path above, due to some awkward object placements that make pogos hard up there. the fourth hopper is purely rng where it is, what position it is, etc, but you lose max a second if youre patient and wait for the pogo up to the platform, and left side always saves time over right with proper execution.

the first hopper has 3 general variations, in videos 2-4 below, and is easily react-able. the damage tank in the "stood still in tunnel" is not optimal, but the jump is tight and you should accept it might happen.

expect the rock killing the fly to eat an input.

Widow Scream Skip. Compared to the strategy I posted last time, this strategy may be simpler and have a higher success rate

Slightly faster cycle for the spike ball room, works for both cloak and cloakless, also a pretty fast strat for the wall break

Object pogo that saves ~0.2 by skipping the ledge grab

ScrewmyShoe

I am very confident that this can be done consistently with this setup which allows for handling 2 very different scenarios. The crow can either attack so far to the right that it will pass the second crow or it can attack from far left and wont reach there. The second version - an "early attack" by the left crow - can be a lot harder to handle and will lose a couple of seconds so it might be worth investigating how one could properly manip for a far right attack. though i was not able to do so

Regardless, this is the most consistent setup i've found for both cases giving me a 85-95% success rate despite my fumbling. An alternative might attempt to get to the right side of the right side crow before pogoing it in order to push it into the middle.

more in depth description of inputs/what's happening is in the first message of the attached thread
Alternative methods as well as more in depth description of how backups work are found here

Sorry for the terrible audio desync no idea what obs is up to.

grabbing this ledge wakes up the enemy which you can use to setup the pogo and you also have 2 silk going into the next room instead of 0 which saves a bit more time

using a bunch of diagonal slashes for this part makes it very consistent and not too hard to remember

dashing up this wall is a good way to avoid agro so you dont have to stall mid air while waiting for this guy to get high enough

Just wanted to share some movement strats for this section, you can also just hold down and right for whole clip except for the first 2 seconds which is pretty comfy

viviash

simple movement on the way to widow (replace the dash chains with pogo dashes if ur sick with it)

mr craw skip (namlaE)

alt path up the right further to dodge the one annoying jumping bug (same speed/very close/marginally faster)

HCDarkNight

Widow's scream skip. I think this is a relatively stable strategy.

Stratus (he/him)

Consistent movement to get past this guy and get around the corner afterwards. Upslash to hug the left wall then buffer jump early to avoid a hardfall. If he does his dash attack immediately, don't hug the wall, as he can hit you for 2 through the wall.

Absolute banger of a room, this skip saves like 12-13 seconds over going to the right side. You can use an enemy to pogo but this is much faster and less rng, but very difficult

Firethief1(Awoo!)

little funny movement thingy

Fairly consistent strats for stick bug arena, if you have 6 or more silk you can silk spear the 2nd Phacia (flower thing), if not, kill it with needle.
Sometimes the first spawn is desynced, if you're spearing you want to needle the one that spawns first. If you're needling both you want to kill the one that spawns later first, this allows the 2nd one to finish it's attack earlier so you can hit it asap.
My standing position at the start of each stick bug spawn is to force them to spawn in the middle.
For the first stick bugs I'm also making use of timing my landing right after the 2nd needle hit to get a quicker silk spear.

Every wr I've seen of this part uses the cloak once or twice to make the gaps so this shouldn't be very hard since it lines up really well, you could also do another dash before the pogo but this is very comfy. I dont know how to savestate so just pretend that the breakable wall is still there and it looks very fast and cool
(you can also go through the dog in the last clip as long as you dont pogo too early off it and dash into the tail)

Stratus (he/him)

Neat use of wall climb to avoid this enemy

Stratus (he/him)

Nice slash setup to get this cycle more consistently.

Wait until the steam disappears from the bottom of the leftmost vent, slash twice, buffer dash, then jump+dash asap.

fallen (skip queen)

Fast skip to Greymoor Bell

Dadison

Faster way of doing the fourth chorus skip healess, the double downslash dash combo is pretty consistent and puts you in the position to do the skip

Darkgrim

Skip the whispering vaults gauntlet utilizing silkspear storage. saves ~1 minute off of nmg any% route, but could be lowered a few extra seconds with optimal movement, cycles, and zero cycle storage. ...also most likely considered too major for nmg.

viviash

relaxing arena strats. enter with at least 3 silk, exits with at least 5
stand on the far right between waves to force the stick bugs to spawn to your left
the opener on each wave is consistent, but finishing the respective last stick bugs can be volatile

consistently fast opener for polaris guy / maestro, you can get hit after the final grappling hook sometimes but he will die

ScrewmyShoe

Nail 1 opener since wr still kinda improvs wave 1 of HHA..

this requires 0 soul and seems very consistent if fast enough to the grapple, don't mind me getting hit in the end
about 3-4 seconds faster than wr wave 1 and ends on basically full soul to quickkill wave 2 with

If the wave 1 flying guy is low after the 3 hits it can be better to just pogo sometimes ime example here which is also another couple seconds faster due to no hits taken

Update to this cycle, the new pogo dash sprint stuff makes it a lot more lenient, think it's very worth to learn for runs

JackmanMarcus 💙

Faster cycle for the Silk Snipper climb

JackmanMarcus 💙

If you dash at the right time towards the end of the platform and buffer the jump out of it, you can make Fourth Chorus skip much more lenient. If you time it right, the jump starts much further left, if you go frame by frame in the video you can see that Hornet hasn't even started moving upward by the time she's off screen. You can also see how high up I am when I reach the platform.
My visual cue is to dash when the front of hornet is aligned with the tip of the red triangle in the 2nd to last platform (the image is the frame before i dash).

nicvampire

You can jump above this enemy to run through this room quickly without ever stopping to wall cling. A bit precise, but viable.

ins0mnia (she/her)

Neat lil prejump pogo movement I was getting to be faster
For the HK runners here, since hornet is taller you can do the wj after that deceptively early, so that set of inputs is super fast.

The Fate Alterer

Go full speed over the swinging spikes. Save state attached and in line with the main list - I'd recommend practicing it a few times to get consistent or else you'll get mucked.

Best strats I've found for the second part of the cloak climb to Greymoor. The Caranid enemy pogo seems to save 2-3s. But they're a bit annoying because of how rng their positions are.
Also, watch out for landing on the rock you're normally supposed to hit so it lands and activates the vent below. For some reason landing on it seems to always give you landn't for a moment

JackmanMarcus 💙

Fixed and improved version of the bell beast phase skip/quick kill. Credit to Vex for the opener.
this saves about 10s with best rng, compared to best rng without phase skip. It saves a bit less with worse rng (because you have to avoid hitting a bunch for bad rng patterns). Still worth going for, as the worst rng with this only loses 2s to the best possible without phase skipping.
First 3 videos are example fights with different rngs, showing how to deal with charge/leap on 80 hp and showing that even if you miss a hit somewhere you can still barely get the quick kill by squeezing in 4 needle hits + silk spear on the scream (you must do a nail turnaround to get this).
Last video is a voiceover that explains all the strats and cues in detail
Forgot to mention in vid, but bell beast can do max 2 bell bursts in a row, and seems to be 3 in a row for charge/leap (it counts both so it could be charge charge leap)
I deleted the old bell beast post since this is just better.

Edit: video was wrong about silk amount in the video, you need 8 silk going in, which means 3 hits between the web in the silk spear room and starting bell beast

Improvement to the early game ant arena on the way to swift step that saves up to 3.1s over the one in WR (avg was about 2.6s better). First video is just the arena, 2nd video is a voiceover explaining everything.

consistent caw pogo for bells route

JoniDasPony

possible timesave with an enemy pogo, could be optemized further https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDf1cH3OTR4

Firethief1(Awoo!)

if you get the bench and get locked by this cycle, you can actually go all the way up

unsure of cause or if known but climing the rope from the far right side and spaming jump consistanly skips the slow walk to the Chapel Maid. (Would love to know if others could replicate this or if its just a weird glitch for my saves)

Firethief1(Awoo!)

aim to pogo off the spikes on the right and it lines up(idk if they are actually pogoable or if its just something to do w/ the hit being delayed) but it seems to save around 1.5-2 seconds

Firethief1(Awoo!)

easy cloakless way to do the skip. Pretty sure its also the same w/ cloak + hunters crest. Seems to break even

bug pogo that skips a small part after bellhart

ins0mnia (she/her)

Strats for normal movement and mossberry+journal movement. For the latter there is also a third clip which is an alternate strat for the flying enemy kill/mossberry pickup that coinflips ages for a little timesave if you want to gamble in a 3+h cat ig

Its possible to skip having to do the battle arena this way. It only having two waves and this skip being pretty hard and rather slow gives this only minimal use. It could however be useful in the future maybe as a shortcut to getting up to sinners road if cling grip ever gets routed in before this (while also not having the elevator to get up).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NblqP91tkWY

fast upper cogworks route, the first buzzsaw cycle can be beaten pretty consistently. Let me know if there is any optimization here or faster known route already

Same idea as Nebula's post but with spear to get a slightly faster 1st phase

ins0mnia (she/her)

All categories skip to avoid going over the top here by using a dive to make it to the ledge

Stratus (he/him)

neat little enemy pogo to skip a bit of movement at the end of this room

dont know the roomcode ill get back to this eventually:PoroSad:
This opening sequence of cogwork dancers is actually entirely scripted. They will always do these first 4 moves, which is just enough time to guarentee a kill

credit to magma on the inspo for this one, this cycle is sick. at the very least you should learn the 1st one, a little risky going for the rest of it, but very fast

(also just optimal for cloak too)
Fast way of getting through this room without getting gooped, just gotta be confident on the cycle.

Kind of a known strat but to get numbers on it, it's about 8-9 seconds lmao. you can do this cycle, and stop to farm for a heal, and it's still worth it by a good amount. also dont hardfall, im a fool
