Skip This is a new, faster setup for Craw Skip. The advantages over the old setup is that Late Dive is now significantly more common, and that the early dive is now able to be hit with the late dive setup, meaning it is no longer 0.8s slower than late dive, but a full 1s faster than it. Although the beginning is different, the late dive still takes the same amount of time.
Please keep in mind that I have yet to do my full diligence with the strategy so I am not exactly sure what results in any given failstate. Start the room by running off the ledge and stopping shortly before the edge. Do a slash and dash forward after it's completed into the water. Once the craw does an extra flap going rightward, get out of the water and move to the typical standing area with the old setup. Most times the craw will opt for a late dive (as far as I can tell, this is due to the exact timing you get out of the water), of which you can do the normal late dive setup.
If the craw opts for an early dive, then you immediately dash over to the background railing used for the pogo. In my experience you typically want to be a little further right than normal, because up left positions become a little dicey with how close they are to the sloped ceiling, though generally if the craw is too far up and left it's due to the beginning of the setup and being too far left. The double pogo itself is pretty much the same, except for the fact I would say you end up jumping higher than normal.
This strat post is mainly focused on these two variations that you can take as you approach the craw skip itself. Either you pogo dash into the water and then jump onto the ledge, or you run off the ledge and then jump onto the platform, which appears based on the timer mod to save 0.3-0.4 over the pogo dash.
The point of this strat post specifically is to clarify that while it saves 0.3-0.4 initially, this timesave is not actually held through once you go for the craw skip. This is mainly because the run off into jump has you nearby/under the craw for a longer period of time, resulting in it going upwards more. This results in you having to wait longer for an early/late dive from the craw compared to if you started with a pogo dash.
Personally, I spent about 20 minutes timing the skip itself (from that first trigger you see in the video up to the ledge where you finish craw skip), in that time, I could not find any meaningful difference between the two strategies based on when you ledge grab, and in my honest opinion I felt that the pogo dash yielded very minorly better results.
With that said, keep doing the run off of you like, it really doesn't matter, but I personally think the pogo dash is easier to do and yields the same results.
I've noticed that crawskip is easier to do when you wait for the fourth flap so that you can pogo the first craw while it's dashing at you. I can't do the regular one at all so hope this helps people.
I'm still not completely consistent at it but usually get it within two tries during speedruns.
so i didnt see much stuff in this channel regarding the backup craw skip where you reload the room on the right transition, so i took inspiration from this backup craw skip here https://discord.com/channels/772964112908156938/1365521515356885032/1421253539514159124 and try to make it more consistent since i wasnt hitting it that often. also want to preface this by saying that i literally just start practice this backup craw skip like 3 hrs ago and im also not a pro speedrunner, so most likely some things can be improved upon. anyways i first enter the room and pogo dash twice (i start the pogo dashes at where i circled in the first image, im not actually sure how much it matters but i found it best when i started it around there). then i sprint jump towards the left platform and pogo down left, and it sets me around where i circled in the second image. immediately right after i land from the pogo, i slash twice, then jump towards the left craw for a pogo. the craw will either do a fast dive where it caws then dives, or do a stall (its actually a slow dive but it doesnt matter since u only need 1 pogo on the craw) where it caws but doesnt do a dive immediately. either way, u do get the pogo. after that u float towards the right craw and pogo that, which should give u enough height and distance to successfully pull off the skip. a thing to note about the second pogo is that u dont want to go to the right of the right craw before the pogo or else itll drift left and ull either miss ur pogo or have to sacrifice some distance to get the pogo. ill also put a yt vid link of me hitting this setup 13x in a row: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAT-TbrvHfg
I have struggled a LOT with craw skip, and I finally found tells that are consistent for me personally. Hope this can help someone else find their own setups. Craw quick dive: If the craw dives faster, jump over it and wait to hear its wings flap 4 times, then immediately dash, walk to the right and pogo the two Craw slow dive: If the craw waits a bit to dive, align yourself with the same spots as usual and dash right before it gets to you, then walk right and pogo both
Slight edit: you CAN sprint, just so long as you don't jump out of it. Make sure you stop sprinting by the time you jump

mr craw skip (namlaE)
walking for a moment until you get to the location indicated by the blue arrow makes underplat here significantly easier (buffer jump out of dash), makes underplat save 0.4 instead of 0.5 however
I do some things a bit differently to others i think, on the early attack most people do 2 nail hits to time going to the right, i just go a bit after the caw starts moving right again, it will always first move left first and then right after finishing the dive
i also just simply do 2 jump dashes before the pogos on both RNGs, it seems to work well, i think most people do only one dash on one pattern at least
this is not to say my strats are the best, there are probably a lot of ways that you can get this consistent but just something to try for people struggling with this
I am very confident that this can be done consistently with this 2 setup which allows for handling each of 2 very different scenarios. The crow can either attack so far to the right that it will pass the second crow or it can attack from far left and wont reach there.
It goes as follows: you always stay just to the left side of the grass on(1st picture).
1st scenario: craw will slowly go towards you, and then it will dive, for this one you move very close to the triggering hitbox of the second craw(2nd picture) and as soon as the first craw dives you do two fast jump-dash inputs and pogo the craws from right to left, dash at the end for getting the mantle easily.
2and scenario: craw will dive instantly, here you will just full jump over the craw and tap right once or twice to get to the middle of the first grass(3rd picture) , then you will do 2 slashes to time your dash, you then proceed to pogo both craws again from right to left, pogoing the second craw looks weird but idk it just works.
This is the most consistent setup i've found for both cases giving me a 90+% success rate despite my fumbling, I'm missing timing info cause idk how to time stuffs, but surely a consistent not too slow setup is more than enough. Shootouts to @ScrewmyShoe and @vlackSR https://discord.com/channels/772964112908156938/1365521515356885032/1421252562014965870 for the video references and explanations of the skip.
The setup consists of positioning yourself more or less as shown in the image. Then, as soon as the craw on the left attacks, do a full jump followed by two neutral slashes or wait for the craw to flap to the left as a visual cue, then dash to the right + walk a little to the right to pass under the craws and finally do a pogo on each of the craws.
This should work with any attack pattern from the craw on the left. I mean, there are times when it attacks too early or too late, and this setup covers those patterns. At least for me, it has been consistent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJMPhosdntY
Video showcasing three different methods to do Craw Pogo: dashback, garama, and right side. Details in the description of the video and also in my commentary in the video itself
I am very confident that this can be done consistently with this setup which allows for handling 2 very different scenarios. The crow can either attack so far to the right that it will pass the second crow or it can attack from far left and wont reach there. The second version - an "early attack" by the left crow - can be a lot harder to handle and will lose a couple of seconds so it might be worth investigating how one could properly manip for a far right attack. though i was not able to do so
Regardless, this is the most consistent setup i've found for both cases giving me a 85-95% success rate despite my fumbling. An alternative might attempt to get to the right side of the right side crow before pogoing it in order to push it into the middle.
more in depth description of inputs/what's happening is in the first message of the attached thread Alternative methods as well as more in depth description of how backups work are found here
Sorry for the terrible audio desync no idea what obs is up to.
