#shaman stone 7

backup strat for 1hp inspired by @74v13r's fury route devout kills

I really didnt find the existing set up for the slopeball easy at all, and from my understanding, neither do many ppl, esp for shamans. Thats the reason why i've been looking for a more consistent (and hopefully faster) way of setting it up.

To begin with, you are going to line yourself up with the edge of the platform (or run up to it), then you are going to dash making sure you still have your aerial dash, then you dash again once you reach that line (1st image). Afterwards, you need to pogo as high as possible (you can use the horizontal line (2nd picture) as a reference, but you have 4f to pogo). To finish it up, you need to dash as high as you can (this roughly lines up with the beginning of the root, but i found it more comfortable to just dash at the peak of the pogo) and then shortly after the dash ends you need to fb.

The most common mistakes i've found are not dashing close enough to the edge of the platform, pogoing too late / too early, delaying too much the dash (its not super precise, but it can happen), fbing too late (this also isnt too precise) and doing the final dash up to the platform too low (the wiggle room for this will obs depend on how well you did the rest). Most of this will either cause you to not reach the platform or to simply not get the slopeball, depending on how well you perform the rest.

Its also worth mentioning that you can try to back it up by replicating the skip starting from the pogo.

Cursed but consistent mantis pogo that skips one of the dashes, i found it based off something I did in TAS, but quick glance shows cerpin was doing something similar into double dash. Allegedly saves 0.4 but idk how accurate that is. Difficulty wise, its much harder than mantis pogo, I'm about 80% consistent after 30 minutes but I know what I'm doing wrong every time i mess it up so take that as you will. If someone else has also come up with this I'm here to vouch for its validity and post it here

This kinda messes you up geo wise, you get less geo and often none at all, so maybe don't do this all the time, or just default to top row if you're doing SS route

You want to fireball halfway through the gap (red) , higher or lower does work, but it makes the rest tighter, you then want to dash, walk a bit (green), jump and hit the lever and immediately dash to the right, full jump after getting past the alcove, pogo once while making sure to not bonk on the lip, pogo again

Backup wise, usually the worst that happens is a mantis hits you and you just mash your nail button and ur all good, you can also just do double dash if ur spooked

Common mistakes:

  1. You need to pogo later than you would in double dash because you need more height
  2. You need to jump for the lever at the correct spot, earlier than double dash, if you don't the left mantis will be too high/low
  3. If ur slow the right mantis gets too close
  4. If u fireball too low the right mantis gets too close
  5. Fireball too high and the left mantis is too high

All in all fairly reasonable enough to do in runs with enough practice I'd assume and definitely run viable enough for comsobs

Also note a lot of the timesaves gonna be how far you go left after doing the 2nd pogo, and this makes doing the 3rd dash on the platform to mantis claw even worse timewise

May uploaded the version of the stallball with more items, just wanted to put this here in case anyone wants to know how to do the fungal core stallball skip with only MoP and shamans.

(dare I say that?) Consistent setups for shade skip skip, with and without shaman. Get the horizontal position correct (with shaman you need to be slightly further to the right) using the background textures. For shamanless, dash and cast as high as possible. With shaman stone, you need to fall a tiny bit or your fireball will go too fast as it does in the first attempt. Either way, don't press directions until after the dash. Only consistent at 50 fps

adaption of shamanless mantis pogo to avoid missing it due to shamanless muscle memory, and an example of a mantis claw early control setup (go right side when dropping back down whenever you can, I just wanted to avoid the mantis here)
