easy and very consistent way of doing soul catcher early control. Basically if you jump after slashing the baldur onto the planks (you need to delay this jump slightly after the slash), the baldur will queue up a roll and roll at a consistent timing when you get close to the ground and enter the roll rectangle hitbox. You want to stand as close to the planks as possible and buffer the jump onto the baldur.

Picking up catcher can still be tight with this but should generally work as long as your timing for the pickup is good. Also the baldur nail strat is not required for this of course, just swag (but it's very lenient)

(probably doesnt work on lp)
This nailboost saves 2-3 frames and if you don't greed it you pretty much always break even at minimum.
Saw it in Peeka's tas here but it's actually rta viable https://discord.com/channels/772964112908156938/822611690871980092/1339511295480692777

Just an update post for the wcs in Ancestral Mound with a good visual cue. The easiest way to set it up is with the nail knockback inventory cancel. If the Knight's eye is mostly visible aside from the bottom right, then you are at the correct distance. Ideally the Baldur lands on the platform so you can pogo it. If he doesn't, then, with some practice, you should hopefully be able to get it within a couple tries.

Alternate version of the strat above and seems to be much easier and around the same time due to not having to collect soul
This was done on 270fps, not sure about the others.

This is an easier version of the tas strat (which is very similar, but without the fb). Its very consistent with practice and saves roughly 0.25. There arent any great back ups for it, but for the skip itself, you have to slash the vfly away, get to the middle platform (timing doesnt matter too much), jump pretty close to the edge, pogo the vfly aiming to clear the platform asap and fb to the right shortly after reaching the peak of the pogo. After that, you need to make sure you gather 3 of soul before reaching the baldur.

soul catcher early control very free ver

If when the knight hits the floor you press down and then strat mashing up while holding down (only if you have socd cleaner, if not, just mash up or down or both), you can quitout as soon as you sit for the second time on the bench (second save icon, also has a pretty clear sound cue) and still get saved on mound bench with vs. Saves 2 seconds, not entirely sure what im doing to save that time (edit: i think in the original you didnt mash up after sitting for the first time for some reason), but there's no need to wait longer.

Version of the soul catcher early control setup that brings down 3 hits of soul. If you want to, you can use this to skip baldur rng. Alternatively, you can use this to exit mound with one cast of soul--very nice if you're planning on doing the slopeball into fungal. The soul catcher early control is entirely optional but may save time by removing the first charm pickup window, even if you never use soul catcher.

extremely funny

more lenient and more consistent ending setup for soul catcher early control. you have a lot of iframes, so wait until you see the baldur start to curl up and then move to the left side of it. warning that you CAN go too far left so dont just hold left and expect to get hit since you need the iframes for when the baldur comes back.

This entirely skips baiting the vengefly over, so it saves time if you get it within 2 tries, and breaks even with 3rd try. By doing a small jump and clinging close to the ground, your fall speed is low and the chain is much easier.

Visual cue for jumping over baldur if you're uncapping fps. Just do a minimum height jump (or slightly higher also works) at the spot and you'll get over. Its fine if you jump early, knockback gets you past spikes usually, if you jump late you'll dunk. Not jumping at all also works. Should save about 0.5 to killing it.

Not too difficult with practice, but can be messed up like any other precise strat. That being said its fairly lenient once you get comfy with it.
