Pretty sure this kill is faster and more versatile than the other kills that've been posted in the past. 2nd clip is what you're aiming for, but there's plenty of ways to handle it if you don't get all the nails. My best with this is about .4 faster than what I got doing other strats. The damage rotation is by @้ดจๅญๅ“ฅ๐Ÿฆ† , or at least that's who I saw do it

slightly faster variation of the kill above and some backups if you dont get the last nail hit of the first cycle. also just good examples of how you can wait out his shield instead of hitting it

Fast way to kill GHS, need at least 7 soul entering the room, if the rava on the middle row dies to fireball do 3 dashes instead of 2

frying whales

Double heal LP Uumuu setup when entering with full soul

for people who struggle doing the transdash but actually want to save time and not be a boomer, not exactly new but its a simplified approach

go low on the wall when starting your cdash, heights not super important here, but just dont be too close to the acid or really high, and cancel it before you slam, ideally you brush up on the wall but if ur a bit away its not a big deal

if you're neutral, you wont cling the wall

then just press dash and jump a bit later, around the same timing you would for a nail cancel

if you dont get any or enough height you pressed jump too early (or are pretty far from the wall when you canceled)
if you dont go out far enough you press jump late

hwurmp knockback storage explanation

Its consistent, all you have to do is leave their orange aggro circle before they inflate fully

  1. you want to take a diagonal path after slashing, preferably by holding jump but falling works too
  2. you want to slash as far away as possible
  3. you want to turn as quickly as possible

It DOES NOT MATTER

  1. what direction you slash after the one to wake them up
  2. when you get close to them again
  3. when the slashes after the inflation happen

Please Note: im still looking further into this since it seemed to stop working as soon as i started doing il attempts, so bear with me

I don't know if this was known but the first mag skip can be done without doing turnarounds between the fireballs if you do a delay between the second fireball and the dash, this does the skip easier. In the video there are 2 clips the first has the hitboxes hidden and in the second one the hitboxes are shown.

Left side petras without c-dash. This one has much more consistent doubles and get more soul than right side, it overall saves about 0.5-0.8 on avg to right side (If you don't do safety wings before 2fbs, if you do it relatively breaks even).

The first petra is little bit harder but its key to delay the dash before the fireball in order to get the double. I tried to see if using any other entering movement and none of them worked that well. The monarch wings before the second petras fireballs isn't needed but highly reccomended for more consistnet doubles and to kill the close petra.

stallball isma skip, alternative to the original by daanolav https://discord.com/channels/772964112908156938/822611544231772170/973299722343309343

  • limit your fps to 50
  • start by sliding down the wall, dash when you touch the background rock thing outlined with red
  • start holding left while dashing, fireball immediately as the dash ends and the game lets you turn around
  • let go of left and start holding right during fireball animation
  • wait until the fireball knockback ends and you start dropping and then dash (it is possible to do this too early)
  • start holding jump when in-between the hanging vines outlined in red
  • turn around and fireball twice, pogo the second fireball

The most difficult part is telling when you need to start the double fireball to get the stallball correctly. It is also not possible to show manually because it varies by height. There was a script that showed precise locations for fungal wastes entrance stallball, I don't think it was ever done for this one though. (img 3) shows the ideal position for the second fireball. I use the background leaf edges to orient myself.

Helpful tips and troubleshooting:

  • if your hitbox crosses the red line while doing the double fireball, abort and go back for more soul, try again
  • if your 2nd fireball disappears on launch you're too close to the wall
  • if you don't get the stallball or you get it but are too far right to pogo it, you're too far from the wall
  • if you're unable to get the required height, you're either doing the 1st dash too late, or the 2nd too early
  • don't practice this one with lowered game speed because it affects the stallball rate
  • do practice with colliders shown

My success rate for this one is 30-40%

entrance skip https://youtu.be/bAro622-PE0?t=74

  • walk off the platform and dash when the knight's head reaches the background seam marked with red dot
  • keep holding right, when you see the knight clinging to the wall release all directional buttons
  • fireball when the knight's head is below the last green leaf (marked with red line - if you do this one too early or too late, recover by dashing left immediately, you can recover the soul by hitting hwurmps or dreamnailing the rotten egg thing)
  • start holding right during the fireball animation
  • when you're close to the acid, turn around and fireball again ( not too close though, you will dip a bit when using wings)
  • after the fireball knockback has finished, dash and wings (buffer the wings before the dash ends)

short vid with examples while showing hitboxes and hero pos, at the end is how I practice the turnaround for the second fb
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=st2dh-id1jY

Use SOCD, one thing I do is I keep holding right once pressed even while doing the turnaround, until the end of the trick.

Unfortunately I haven't found any way to know when you need to turn around and fireball again, mostly because you don't see what you're doing. I've been relying on muscle memory learned while doing it with colliders shown. The skip is very tight, practice a lot with colliders on, and lower the game speed to .6 or .7 if necessary. My success rate falls somewhere between 30-40%.

soul collection for isma entrance skip
Your goal here is to fill up your soul meter and clear out everything below the red line (including inflated hwurmps that might enter and get hit by your fireball). If you kill enemies while executing the skip you get freeze frames and will always fail. (img 1) Ideally you want to enter with 3 soul, but it's possible to enter with no soul (if you failed a spike tunnel skip).

(img 2) is your ideal case scenario. Execution shown here https://youtu.be/bAro622-PE0?t=69. Numbers denote the order in which you kill the hwumrps. You need 6 soul so pogo (1) and slash (2) 5 times. If you need more than 6 soul keep going according to numbers. you don't need to kill (3) since it is high enough to not interfere with your skip execution, so just hit it however many times you need. Number 4 is always killed last because you need to kill him if inflated because you cannot take chances with letting him bounce because he will get hit by your fireball.

(img 3) or its variations is the most common encounter I think, you need to clear out (1) and (2) and sometimes (4) if it hangs low enough. Start by nailing (1) or (2) - they will almost always both inflate, just keep nailing until they're both dead. If they don't both inflate, kill the one closer to you and then the other. With any luck it might drift close to the acid so it can be one-shot.

If while entering you get the opportunity to pogo (4) into the acid, do so immediately, this is always beneficial.

Sometimes while dealing with (1) and (2), (3) or (4) might start drifting towards you and you need to react to avoid taking damage. In that case almost always the best solution is to fireball the inflated hwurmps because taking damage often means you dunk too and lose time. So whenever you see you're about to take damage use your fireballs.

For any other variations use your best judgment. Your soul backup is top left, dreamnail the rotten egg thing.

the first room for isma's without using fireballs, relatively easy to execute if the hwurmp cooperates, means you don't have to go back for soul for the mag skip https://youtu.be/vLUYjlkbosA

2 fb easier set up for the first acid skip.
You have to dash off the closest platform, dash again in the air when you're at the same height as the not sloped wall (beacuse you want to cling). Then, hold right for a moment to cling and don't hold any directions, shoot 2 quick fbs just after being under the ceiling level, delay a bit while you press right and then dash and wings instantly.
(only useful for people bad at fb quick turnarounds)

significantly easier mag isma skip without dashmaster and with shaman's, using diagonal fireball https://youtu.be/6V-C6GAVfME

reverse acid skip saves 0.3sh over no cdash. if cdash is too high and ends at the end of the overhang it loses time. don't do this.

Scruffy

Saves 1-2s depending on if you get the forward boosts on the Hwurmp or not. If the Hwurmp is too high up it becomes much harder, and probably better to go for the upslash strat.

I'm new to running Hollow Knight and I've been trying my hand at All skills (1.2.2.1). While i was practicing the skips to make my way to Isma's Tear I found a visual cue to time the jump for the last acid skip. When you crystal dash into the wall you kick out a dust cloud and when the front edge of that cloud passes the far side of the platform, that is when i hit jump. I went from failing 4/5 times using an audio cue to getting the jump 9/10 times with the visual cue. I hope this helps anyone learning the category like me.
